Speed Pool is a Tier 4 event. Competition begins as an extended challenge where cadets compete to earn a spot in the Regimental Tournament by end of the challenge round. The number of cadets advancing to the Regimental Tournament will be between four (4) and sixteen (16), and depends upon quality of play during challenge play.
There is no limit to the number of participants in challenge play. However, no more than two (2) players per company may participate in the Regimental Tournament.
Players sign-up and request equipment and timer from the Deas Hall Equipment Room between 1530 and 1730, per the published weekly schedule.
One player participates at a time and starts with a full rack of balls. A Timer starts the clock when the player makes first contact with the cue ball. The player may set-up the next shot immediately but must wait until the cue ball comes to a complete stop before attempting the next shot. The clock stops once the player has successfully cleared the table of all balls.
Each player has two attempts to post best time. Players will be ranked daily by their best time.
Cadets selected to advance to the Regimental Tournament will play a best of three head-to-head competition. Seeding will be based off of qualifying times.
