Deas Hall Membership
Priority Use: The primary purpose of Deas Hall is to provide instructional support for students in the Department of Health, Exercise and Sport Science (HESS), along with their college intramural, club, and recreational athletic activities. Next in priority to use facility are faculty and staff personnel. Students, faculty and staff are considered “priority users.”
Membership: Based upon availability, individuals, 18 years and older, wishing to use Deas Hall who are not listed as a priority user may apply for membership. These individuals are considered “members.”
- Read and agree to policies and procedures set forth in this document.
- Complete a Deas Hall Membership Application.
- Read and sign the Deas Hall Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk.
- Complete the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q).
Fees: The membership fee is $100.00 per semester. Semesters begin January 1, May 1 and September 1. A new membership card must be purchased on or before dates noted and may be obtained from the First Floor Equipment Room in Deas Hall. All new members shall complete required paperwork and will be given a dated membership card.
- Members are governed by current college and building regulations, and by specific instruction for individual facilities within the building.
- Entrance to Deas Hall is through the front lobby only.
- Members are required to show current membership card upon entrance.
Guests: Priority users and members may bring one (1) guest, 15 years and older, into Deas Hall during scheduled hours. The guest must be signed-in at the welcome desk by the priority user or member. At that time, a $5.00 fee will be collected and the guest will sign an Assumption of Risk. The priority user or member is responsible for the conduct, safety, and activities of the guest; these patrons must remain together while using the facility, and must exit together.
Locker Rooms and Lockers: Deas Hall has locker rooms designated for male and female faculty/staff and male and female students. There is no fee to use a locker, however, lockers must be registered in the First Floor Equipment Room and you must provide your own lock. You may keep your locker throughout the school year, and if proper arrangements are made, over the summer too. When you vacate your locker, please notify the Equipment Room.
Please be courteous to others and clean up after yourself. Do not store food, drinks, alcohol, drugs or weapons in lockers.
Deas Hall is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Towels: Deas Hall does not have a towel service.
Sports & Fitness Equipment: Deas Hall has a variety of equipment available for check-out. Present your Deas Hall Membership card to the Equipment Room; your card will be returned when equipment is returned.
