Welcome to the School of Engineering
We were among the first 5 engineering programs in the nation and the first in South Carolina and the state's first accreditted program. Today, we have built a top-25 nationally ranked engineering program, among all institutions where the highest degree is a master's degree - that is both public and affordable.
You Can Expect Great Things
Our students have had a near 99% job placement rate within the first 6-months of graduation. We constantly work collaboratively with leaders across the industry to make sure that our students are receiving an education that prepares them to be successful on day-1 as a new engineer or project manager. Our alumni can be found all over the world, working for some of the biggest names in industry, providing solutions to our most critical gloabl issues.

Two Options, Unlimited Potential:
Want to accept the challenge and wear the iconic uniform? Become an Engineering Cadet at The Citadel by joining the South Carolina Corps of Cadets as a college freshman between your 17th and 23rd birthday. You'll complete your engineering courses and degree as part of a larger military formatted program, that trains leaders who value honor, duty, and respect.
2+2 Transfer Program:
South Carolina residents have flexible and affordable guaranteed access+ to a nationally ranked undergraduate engineering degree at The Citadel. Our 2+2 transfer program will save an SC Resident an average of more than $20,000* over the course of 4-years, when compared with the costs of completing a 4-year degree at a public SC university.
You'll work with our admissions advisors to complete your 2-year associates degree, which includes engineering prerequisites (with at least a 2.0 GPA), at a regionally accredited college (such as Trident Tech) and then transfer to The Citadel to earn a Bachelors of Science in one of 5 engineering disciplines - earning a Citadel degree!

The Citadel School of Engineering has the same general computer/system requirements as outline by our Information & Technology Services (ITS) team.
- Minimum System Requirements
- NO CHROME BOOKS
To view a list of recommended computer configurations that are available for purchase through The Citadel, please visit http://www.citadel.edu/root/computer-recommendations or http://www.dell.com/citadel. If you have additional questions, such as "PC vs Apple", or "What if I have an Apple", please go to ITS' FAQ page at http://www.citadel.edu/root/computer-recommendations/computer-faq
Please note that while The Citadel School of Engineering does not have system requirements beyond the minimum, there is a configuration available for purchase through The Citadel that is recommended for Engineering students. This recommended configuration will provide above average computing capabilities for some of the programs and technologies used by our different programs. Again, this is only a recommendation and not a requirement.
