The Citadel is a public college that offers in-state tuition rates to South Carolina residents, which are lower than most private colleges and universities. The Citadel School of Engineering is among the first 5 engineering programs in the nation and the first in South Carolina, and the state’s first accredited program. Today, we have built a top-20 nationally ranked engineering program (non-doctoral), based on the U.S News and World Report.
You Can Expect Great Things
Our students experience a near 99% job placement rate within the first six months of graduation. We work collaboratively with industry leaders to ensure our students receive an education that prepares them to succeed on day one as new engineers or project managers. Our alumni can be found all over the world, working for some of the biggest names in the industry, providing solutions to our most critical global issues.
Degree Completion/Transfer Students:
Students who complete pre-requisite coursework and their associate’s degree at a South Carolina public technical college can then transfer to The Citadel. Our admissions advisors work closely with prospective transfer students, so that by the time they graduate with their associates, most have already received an admissions offer from The Citadel!
All transfer/degree completion students take their courses in a traditional civilian classroom/lab setting.

Anna Jones is a Civil Engineering major, member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and has earned placements on the Dean’s List multiple times. 
Maurice Bonneau is a Construction Engineering major who also serves as The Citadel football team’s XO. 
Daniel DuBose is an Electrical Engineering major who has earned placements on the Dean’s List, Commandant’s List, President’s List and has received Gold Star awards.
