Faculty who want to deepen their expertise in online and hybrid instruction may pursue the Advanced Online Teaching Certificate. This certificate is designed for instructors who have already completed the three Citadel Teaching Foundations trainings and want to further strengthen their skills in Canvas and digital pedagogy.
Certificate Requirements
To earn the Advanced Online Teaching Certificate, faculty must complete a total of eight courses:
- Canvas Fundamentals
- Best Practices for Assessment and Grading
- Best Practices in Online and Hybrid Teaching
- Canvas Advanced: Assignments and Discussions
- Canvas Advanced: Quizzes
- Canvas Advanced: Studio
- Canvas Advanced: Course Analytics
- Adapting Classes and Assignments for the AI Era
Completion and Recognition
All courses are delivered asynchronously through Canvas and include step-by-step tutorials and practical application tasks. To complete each training, you must score 90% or higher on the final quiz.
Upon successful completion of all required trainings, participants will be awarded the Advanced Online Teaching Certificate, demonstrating their commitment to instructional excellence in digital learning environments.
