The Citadel Teaching & Learning Showcase opens classroom doors across campus. During this two-week event, faculty invite colleagues into their classes to see teaching strategies, technologies, and approaches to AI in action. Visits are short and informal, and the goal is to share ideas, not to evaluate.
How It Works
- Faculty volunteer to host one or more of their class sessions.
- CEITL shares a schedule of open sessions with all faculty and staff.
- Visitors choose the sessions they want to attend and drop in for 10 to 15 minutes, or stay longer if their schedule allows.
- After you sign up, you’ll receive a calendar invitation for each session you choose.
Visit a Classroom
Visiting is one of the easiest ways to pick up new ideas for your own teaching. We encourage you to visit at least two classes, including at least one outside your discipline.
While you visit:
- Enter and leave quietly, and follow the host’s lead.
- Notice how students are engaged and how the instructor structures the class.
- Write down one idea you could try in your own course.
Host a Classroom
Hosting lets you share something that works for your students, such as:
- An active learning strategy, discussion technique, or problem-solving activity
- A technology or Canvas tool you use in class
- A way you build AI into assignments, or design work that shows students’ own thinking
- Any approach that helps students engage and learn
You don’t need to plan anything special. Teach as you normally would. Visitors want to see real teaching.
