Our Mission

It is the mission of the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships to provide you with the optimal financial assistance while attending The Citadel. It is important that you participate in this process throughout each year that you are enrolled at our school.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Please complete the 2013-2014 FAFSA for the 2013-2014 academic school year using our federal school code 003423. You must submit a new FAFSA after January 1st each year. Once your FAFSA has been received, in our office, your financial aid account for that school year is opened. Incoming freshmen will begin to receive email communications from our office, in late March, using the email address provided on the FAFSA. Please immediately complete requests for additional paperwork; Delays on your part can hinder your ability to receive aid from programs with limited funding such as grants and scholarships.

Upperclassmen: In addition to the yearly FAFSA submission, you must complete an annual scholarship application to be considered for Citadel scholarships. This electronic application (link) is located in the lower right hand corner.

Financial Aid Account Requirements

Please be sure to complete all of your outstanding financial aid account requirements to ensure that your financial aid is in order and to prevent a hold on your course registration.

Financial Aid Account Access

Students can access their Financial Aid through our school portal Lesesne Gateway. If you have yet to log into Lesesne Gateway or don't know your password, please review the Information Technology website. For directions on how to navigate the Citadel portal, use "How to Access Your Financial Aid Self-Service."
