Visiting The Citadel

COVID-19 NOTE:  Out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety of campus visitors, the Office of Admissions is suspending daily campus visits and holding Virtual Info Sessions in their place.  Please continue to monitor this page to learn when we will be resuming daily campus visits.

The Office of Admissions staff will still be available to those who have questions or need assistance throughout this period.  So, please feel free to contact us.

The Office of Admissions hosts prospective cadets on campus several times each year for regularly-scheduled Pre-Knob Overnight Visits and daily for individual visits and campus tours.  High School groups are also welcome to visit.

Directions to The Citadel

Virtual Info Sessions: In place of daily campus visits, the Office of Admissions is now offering virtual information sessions on a daily basis at 10:30 a.m (Monday - Friday). and 3:30 p.m. (Monday - Thursday).  NOTE:  These times are Eastern Standard Time.

Virtual Info Sessions are live events with an Admission Officer that are 30-45 minutes in length.  Prospective students can use their phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.

Virtual sessions use the popular (and free) Zoom video conferencing application (or ZOOM Cloud Meetings app at your smartphone marketplace).  NOTE:  Particiaption spots in the session you choose may be limited.  If the date and time you select is not available, we will help you find another date and time (close to your original selection) that works for you.

Pre-Knob Overnight Visits. The Pre-Knob Program is a rare opportunity for a non-cadet to observe the cadet lifestyle firsthand. In addition to receiving a Knob host, Pre-Knobs spend the night in the barracks, eat in the Mess Hall, and attend classes.

preknobParents also receive a special orientation program geared specifically toward future knob parents (information on academics, financial aid, cadet lifestyle, etc.).

Eligibility.  Fall Pre-Knob events: Open to any one who has applied for admission (acceptance is not required).  Spring Pre-Knob events: Reserved for accepted applicants.
