Visiting The Citadel
The Office of Admissions hosts Virtual Info Sessions and Daily (M-F) Campus Visits for prospective cadets. High School groups are also welcome to participate in virtual visits as well. |
Virtual Info Sessions: The Office of Admissions offers virtual information sessions Monday - Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Virtual Info Sessions are live events with an Admission Officer that are 30-45 minutes in length. Prospective students can use their phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer. Virtual sessions use the free Zoom video conferencing application (or ZOOM Cloud Meetings app at your smartphone marketplace). NOTE: Participation spots in the session you choose may be limited. If the date and time you select is not available, we will help you find another date and time (close to your original selection) that works for you. |

Daily (M-F) Campus Visits. Prospective cadets and their families may visit the campus in-person to learn more about The Citadel. These visits occur Monday - Friday at 10:15 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. They are usually about an hour and forty-five minutes long an include an information presentation, as well as a cadet-guided tour of the campus and plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Pre-Knob Overnight Visits. Under normal circumstances, the Pre-Knob Program serves as a rare opportunity for a non-cadet to observe the cadet lifestyle firsthand. In addition to receiving a Knob host, Pre-Knobs spend the night in the barracks, eat in the Mess Hall, and attend classes.
Parents usually also receive a special orientation program geared specifically toward future knob parents (information on academics, financial aid, cadet lifestyle, etc.).
Eligibility. Fall Pre-Knob events: Open to any one who has applied for admission (acceptance is not required). Spring Pre-Knob events: Reserved for accepted applicants.
Unfortunately, as a result of COVID-19, the Office of Admissions is not currently expecting to host any overnight visit programs. In place of the Pre-Knob Program, other virtual engagement opportunities may be announced soon.
High School Group Visits: Student groups are welcome to request a weekday Virtual Info Session. Such events include a short information presentation prior to a Q&A session with a current cadet. To arrange a virtual visit for your high school group, please contact Major Jeff Price in the Office of Admissions.
