Department of Psychology Initiatives
Suicide Prevention Collaborative
April 1, 2026 • Capers Hall at The Citadel
The Office of the Commandant, the School of Humanities & Social Sciences, and the Department of Psychology are proud to host the Suicide Prevention Collaborative.

The Suicide Prevention Collaborative is a full-day, interactive working session designed to bring together key campus stakeholders to strengthen our understanding of and support for student mental health and to promote more coordinated, evidence-informed prevention efforts across campus.
The day centers on small, facilitated breakout discussions led by trained facilitators and suicide prevention experts. Participants will actively engage in structured dialogue and collaborative problem-solving focused specifically on suicide prevention at The Citadel. This event is not lecture- or presentation-based; meaningful participation is expected throughout the day.
While the Collaborative is a one-day event, it is designed to spark sustained efforts that enhance connection, early identification, and coordinated support across campus.
This is not the end of the conversation — it is the beginning of a long-term commitment to fostering a safer, more supportive community.
