Guest lecture explores PTSD and substance abuse
Ananda B. Amstadter, Ph.D., discussed the genetics of post-traumatic stress and substance use disorders during the Department of Psychology’s Leverett Lecture on Oct. 16 in Daniel Library.
Amstadter is a professor of psychiatry, psychology and human and molecular genetics at the Virginia Institute for Psychiatric and Behavioral Genetics at Virginia Commonwealth University.
The Leverett Lecture Series honors James Patrick Leverett, a faculty member in the Department of Psychology who died in a plane crash in 2005. Leverett was a skilled clinician, gifted teacher, beloved colleague and devoted mentor.
