Bio:
Melissa Reeves Myrick is an Instructor and Math Readiness Program Coordinator for Mathematical Sciences. She has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina and worked as a Nuclear Engineer at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. After the closure of the Shipyard, she began teaching high school mathematics. She then attended The Citadel to earn a Masters in the Art of Teaching Mathematics and decided she wanted to teach at the college level. She worked as a graduate assistant at The Citadel from 2016 through 2019 and won the award of Outstanding Graduate Student in 2019. She joined the staff as an Adjunct Professor in 2020 and became a full time Instructor in 2021. Professor Myrick is the Coordinator of the Math Readiness Program and administers the math placement exam for incoming students. She enjoys working with students and sharing her love of mathematics.
