The Tailor Shop is located on The Citadel campus between the Cadet Store and Dry Cleaning Services.

The Tailor Shop issues all tailored uniform items to cadets and performs alterations to cadets uniforms. Services are also available to all faculty, staff, students, Alumni and anyone who needs top notch tailoring services. Our full service shop offers alterations on both military uniforms and civilian clothing.

Employee Uniforms

Employees who are required to wear a uniform may purchase the Army Service Uniform (ASU) or the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) items from the suppliers listed below.

The Army is transitioning from the ASU to the AGSU, and the wear out date for the ASU is October 1, 2027. Prior to October 1, 2027, the ASU and AGSU are acceptable. After October 1, 2027, employees should wear the AGSU.

Army Service Uniform (ASU) items may be purchased from the following:

• Tailor Shop
  • The Tailor Shop stocks a small inventory of male trousers, female slacks, shirts, short officer jackets and cardigan sweaters. Staff members can measure employees for uniform sizes. 
• Marlow White
  • Citadel employees may purchase uniform items and accessories such as officer ranks, shoulder boards and hats from Marlow White.
• Exchange
  • Only authorized active duty and retired military personnel may purchase uniform items from Exchange. To determine if you are authorized, please visit the authorized patrons webpage.

Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) items may be purchased from the following:

• Glendale Parade Store
• The Supply Room
• Marlow White
• Cadet Store: Employees may purchase Army Combat Uniform items, the South Carolina Pin and the Palmetto Pin from the Cadet Store. These items are stocked year-round.
