Recommended Syllabus Statements
Each course syllabus should contain a statement reflecting compliance with The Americans with Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, Section 504.
The Citadel will provide reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities to make all learning experiences accessible. If you feel you may need accommodations based on the impact of a disability, please contact the Services for Students with Disabilities Office in the Student Success Center, (103 Thompson Hall, 843-953-6877, email@example.com) to initiate a conversation about your options. Please know that accommodations are not retroactive, so avoid any delays.
If you anticipate issues related to the format or requirements of this course, please meet with me. I would like us to discuss ways to ensure your full participation in the course. If you determine that formal, disability related accommodations are necessary, it is very important that you register with the Shannon McKenzie, M.Ed. (103 Thompson Hall, 843-953-6877, firstname.lastname@example.org) and notify me of your eligibility for reasonable accommodations. We can then plan how best to coordinate your accommodations.
If you are a student with a disability and need accommodations for this class, please contact Ms. Shannon McKenzie,103 Thompson Hall at 843-953-6877, or email@example.com to schedule an appointment. If your request for accommodations has already been approved and you have your accommodations letters, please meet with me during my offices hours as soon as possible.
If you have an immediate access need, please see me after class. Students with short-term disabilities, such as a broken arm, can often work with instructors to minimize classroom barriers. In situations where additional assistance is needed, students should contact the Services for Students with Disabilities as noted above.
