The Vice President for Finance & Business Department oversees a broad range of offices and services on campus including Auxiliary Services, the Budget Office, the Office of Institutional Compliance, Financial Services Office, the Treasurer’s Office, Procurement Services & Central Supply Warehouse.
Auxiliary Enterprises comprises several facilities on campus that include: Dining Services (Iron Gate Catering, The Canteen, Coward Dining Hall, Java City), Laundry and Dry Cleaning Services; The Citadel Bookstore; The Cadet Store; The Barber Shop; The Tailor Shop and Embroidery Services. It also includes Campus Vending; Coin Laundry and OneCard Services
The Budget Office supports all of the campus’ budgetary needs by providing our faculty, staff and students complete, timely and executable budget programs, reports, analysis and customer service.
The Office of Institutional Compliance promotes College-wide compliance with laws, regulations and policies that govern the daily activities of the students, faculty and staff of The Citadel.
Financial Services Office consists of the Office of the Treasurer and the Accounting Department. The Office of the Treasurer is responsible for student billing and the collection of all funds due to The Citadel. The Accounting Department is responsible for all financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, grants accounting, and asset management which includes cash, investments, capital assets, and endowments.
Procurement Services assists the college in purchasing and providing the goods and services necessary for its educational, research, and public services missions. Central Supply Warehouse manages the campus warehouse and distribution system and by accounting for fixed assets through property management.
Our Mission
The mission of the Vice President for Finance & Business Department is to provide the financial analysis, resources, oversight and standards of accountability to enable the college to make sound, fiscally responsible decisions that empower the college to uphold its core values and traditions of principled leadership and the tenets of honor, duty and respect. We accomplish this through good stewardship, working to strengthen the overall financial position of the college by increasing revenue and controlling and reducing expenses while ensuring necessary funding to advance the college’s strategic initiatives and supporting the cadets, faculty, staff and administration of the college.
