Department of Mathematical Sciences
Welcome to the Department of Mathematical Sciences!
Our mission is to prepare students to meet the mathematical and computing demands they will face in their careers and as knowledgeable citizens. Through academic programs, research, and public service the department supports the disciplines of mathematics and computer science and the growth and development of educational opportunities in the Lowcountry.
We offer two undergraduate degrees: the B.S. in Mathematics and the B.S. in Computer Science, and five undergraduate minors: (1) Applied Mathematics, (2) Applied Statistics, (3) Computer Programming, (4) Cybersecurity, and (5) Management. We also offer three graduate programs: (1) M.S. in Computer Science (jointly with the College of Charleston), (2) MA in Education (with major in mathematics), and (3) MA in Teaching (with concentration in mathematics, offered via the School of Education).
