Southern Association of Colleges and Schools – SACS
The Citadel is accredited by The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award bachelor's, master's, and specialist degrees. The Citadel's most recent re-affirmation occurred in 2009. Program-specific Accreditations
The undergraduate and graduate degree programs of Teacher Education, Counselor Education, Literacy Education and Educational Leadership have been accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). All School of Education programs in education have been approved by the South Carolina Department of Education using the guidelines of the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification as modified for use in South Carolina. The Counselor Education program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The Citadel holds membership in the American Association of State Colleges and Universities and the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education.
The School of Business Administration at The Citadel is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International.
