The Campus Assessment Team (CAT) is a multidisciplinary team whose mission is to (1) make individualized and objective assessments of an applicant’s or a student’s ability to safely participate in The Citadel’s program; (2) to detect patterns and trends in individual or group conduct; (3) provide consultation and support to faculty, staff, and administration in assisting students who display concerning or disruptive behaviors.
Who We Are
The Campus Assessment Team is a multidisciplinary team that is committed to addressing the concerns of our faculty, staff, and students, regarding the health and well-being of students that display imminent harm to themselves or others. We also address physical health concerns that may hinder a student from being able to comply with the physical requirements of The Citadel’s program. We work together with professionals, staff, and families, to develop recommendations that are in the best interest of the student and The Citadel community.
Our team is comprised of individuals from departments across The Citadel campus. This includes:
Executive Director of Student Affairs and Academic Services (Chair)
Assistant Commandant for Standards and Discipline
Director of The Citadel Counseling Center
The Citadel Surgeon
Manager, Students with Disabilities
General Counsel of The Citadel
If you would like more information or have general questions or concerns, please contact the Executive Director of Student Affairs and Academic Services, COL John Robinson, at 843.953.5155 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also contact the CAT Case Manager, Anitra Williams, at 843.953.4491 or email at email@example.com.
Reporting Student Concern
Faculty, staff, and students can voluntarily report “red flag behaviors” that may raise concern for potential incidents of inappropriate behavior at The Citadel. An incident, in this context, is an event that does not warrant immediate intervention. If there is an event that does warrant immediate intervention, please call Public Safety at 843.953.5114 or call 911. Wellness Check Referrals are addressed ASAP by our staff in the Student Affairs office.
