Canvas Resource Course

A Canvas Course, Citadel Canvas Resources for Faculty and Staff, has been created to share information and provide tutorials to assist faculty members in using The Citadel’s Learning Management System.  The course includes tutorials, videos and resources that describe how to use Canvas and other online tools.

Canvas FAQs

What is the recommended browser for Canvas?
Chrome and Firefox are the recommended browsers with Canvas. Canvas supports the last two versions of browser releases. We highly recommend updating to the newest version of whatever browser you are using as well as the most up-to-date Flash plug-in.

I forgot my password or am having trouble logging in.  Who do I contact?
The Help Desk can reset or unlock your password.

How do I upload or create content (videos, files, etc.) into my Canvas course?
Content can be added to content pages as well as assignments and discussions.
Why can’t the students see the content I created?
As you create content, you will need to select the option to PUBLISH the content to make it visible to the students.  If students do not see your content, click the PUBLISH icon at the end of the content title.

Why won't my videos upload?
First, check the video length and file format. If your video is longer than 15 minutes, consider breaking it up into shorter videos. We also have additional tips available in the Citadel Canvas Resource for Faculty and Staff course.  

Who do I contact for Canvas support?
If you need assistance with adding content, assignments or tests into Canvas or troubleshooting student issues, please contact CEITL & DE at ceitlde@citadel.edu.  Canvas technicians are also available for 24/7 support via chat or telephone.  Contact information is available in the HELP menu within Canvas.

Students contact their instructor regarding course content and submissions.
