The Citadel has an incredible number of resources at your disposal, many having links to our site. Here are a few we thought you might find useful:
The Office of Academic Affairs is a great resource if your cadet is having troubles with their academics. In addition to working with the Faculty, they also manage the Company and Battalion Academic Advisors (Faculty and Staff) and Officers (Cadets). If they don’t have the answer to your question, if won’t take them long to get it! You can find the webpage to the Office of Academic Affairs here.
The Office of the Commandant manages the day-to-day schedules of the cadets, the leadership programs, Student Affairs (clubs, programs, etc.) and TAC Officers. If you cadet is having discipline issues, you should be talking to the TAC who can answer your questions and explain any issues you may have. You can find theCommandant’s website here. You can go straight to the TAC Officer contact page by clicking HERE.
If you have a child at The Citadel, then you are a member of The Citadel Family Association (CFA). We encourage you to participate as a way to develop relationships with folks who are going through or have gone through what you are experiencing. Make sure you get to know your company rep. As you work to be an effective advisor to your cadet, its nice to already have that relationship with another parent. You can find the CFA website here.
You may hear something from your cadet or his friends that cause you concern. We hope you will pass it on to us so we can investigate it and take appropriate action based on what we find. The best way to report this is to share your concerns with the TAC Officer. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact one of our three OMBUDSPERSONS. Conversations with the OMBUDSPERSONS are confidential. They will work with you to get your issue brought to the right office and resolved. You can find their names and numbers at theOMBUDSPERSON Website.
