Viewing your Bill
All incoming freshman, returning Cadets and CGC students can access the “Student tab” in Lesesne Gateway to view billing information.
Authorized parent users will use the following link to access bills: https://commerce.cashnet.com/citadelpay

Payment Options
Payments made online (E-Check/ACH or Debit/Credit Card through Lesesne Gateway will post automatically to a student’s account automatically. Paper checks that are presented during office hours also will be processed and post automatically to a student’s account. Payments that are mailed to the office may take up to three days after the date of being received.
The 2022 1098T is available online.
A paper copy of the 2022 1098-T Education Tax Credit form for was mailed to the home address on file by January 31, 2023. Please follow these instructions to access your 2022 1098T online.
To get a duplicate official copy of your 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, or 2021 1098-T form. You will need the Student’s First and Last Name, Social Security Number, Zip Code of permanent home residence during that year. You will then use the following weblink to obtain an electronic copy of that years IRS 1098-T tax form: http://heartland.ecsi.net/

To make a payment, the following options are available:
- Pay online with a debit/credit card or electronic check using Lesene Gateway or BannerWeb.
- In person with cash, check, or money order during posted business hours.
- Mail a check/money order to: The Citadel ATTN: Treasurer Office Bond Hall Room 112 171 Moultrie Street Charleston, SC 29409
- Pay by wire transfer; contact the Treasurer’s office for information about using this option.
- Reminder to always include the student’s full name with any payment to avoid confusion. If you have The Citadel Identification (CWID) number, this will speed the process and guarantee accuracy.

Tuition, fees, and charges are subject to change by administrative, federal, or state legislative changes, or The Citadel Board of Visitors action, and changes become effective on the date enacted. Tuition and fee charges for all courses will be assessed by a student’s level and residency status. The College reserves the right to correct errors in student fee assessments and charges which are discovered subsequent to the initial billings or fee statements.
Tuition and fees are set regardless of the mode of instruction and the Citadel reserves the right to determine the mode of instruction that it believes will best serve the student in consideration of the totality of the circumstances. In the event of an unforeseeable cause beyond the control of and without the negligence of the Citadel, including but not limited to fire, flood, other severe weather, acts of God, interruption of utility services, acts of terrorism, pandemic, epidemic, disease at the housing facility or in the surrounding area/city/county, government restrictions, or the like, the Citadel reserves the right to maintain the safety of the premises by any means, including but not limited to, transitioning on-ground classes online or temporarily suspending classes. It is the University’s responsibility to identify potential scholarship recipients on the basis of information provided in your scholarship and study application. The Citadel cannot be responsible for any errors or omissions in the information supplied to it and on which eligibility decisions are based. The Citadel’s decision on the interpretation of eligibility criteria is final and there is no right of appeal. The College reserves the right to correct errors in on websites that may be incorrect regarding any awards, scholarships or financial assistance.
Force Majeure
In the event of an unforeseeable cause beyond the control of and without the negligence of the University, including but not limited to fire, flood, other severe weather, acts of God, interruption of utility services, acts of terrorism, pandemic, epidemic, government restrictions, or the like, the Citadel reserves the right to maintain the safety of the premises by any means, including but not limited to closing or limiting access to campus and/or temporarily closing or restricting use of college residence facilities. Such actions shall not be considered a breach of contract and the Citadel shall not be obligated to refund any amount already paid pursuant to this agreement.
Policy Notes:
As of July 1, 2008, Federal Financial Aid regulations prohibit the use of excess financial aid to pay off past-due balances from a prior academic year. Federal, State and Institutional assistance are applied to your current academic semester.
