Dear Parents,
Congratulations on your student’s decision to “take the road less traveled” and attend The Citadel. To help ensure a successful transition to The Citadel, we invite you and your daughter/son to consider The Citadel Success Institute (CSI). CSI is open to prospective members of the incoming class of 2027 who have been academically accepted and medically cleared.
For some of you, this may be the first time you are sending a child off to college. The transition for your child from high school to The Citadel is unique in many ways. We hope to provide an experience at CSI that will help ease that transition for both students and families. Please take time to read some of the testimonials from previous family members, visit our FAQ page, and join our Facebook Page. If you have any additional questions please contact us at CSI@citadel.edu or (843)953-5155.
Important Note: the information on this page is from the previous year and is for reference purposes only. We are actively updating this content and the current information will be available shortly. Thank you for understanding.
Looking Forward to Summer 2023…

Please print a copy of all the documents listed below and bring the documents to drop off day 1 of CSI.
Parking
Parking is very limited on campus, but if a student MUST bring a car, he/she must obtain a parking pass (at an additional cost) and will only be able to drive his/her vehicle to campus from home and then to return home at the end of the session. A CSI administrator will keep the car keys safe for the student for the entire duration of the session.
To obtain a parking pass, email onecard@citadel.edu and include the following information: Student’s name, CWID, email address, phone number, plate number, type of car, and its color. Parking passes are $75 and can be paid for through Lesesne Gateway. After you contact OneCard, you will receive instructions regarding where to park how to obtain your parking decal on check-in day.
Drop Off July 5th / Pick Up August 1st
Check-in will be held from 8-10 AM on July 5th, and to make this process as smooth as possible, we have assigned staggered check-in times based on alphabetical order which is below.
Pick up will be August 1st between 8-12 PM depending on a students final exam. Some finals may be done by 9 AM while other finals will be done by 11:30 AM. All students must vacate the barracks by 1 PM on August 1st.
Drop off times – We will hold to this schedule firmly, please no early admittance.
Last names that start with:
A-E 8:00 am
F-J 8:30 am
K-P 9:00 am
Q-Z 9:30 am
Please plan to arrive at your designated time of drop-off. Early arrivals will be sent to a waiting zone parking lot until their assigned arrival time. We will provide parents a 1-day parking pass, please print this out and have it visible so that we can direct you correctly once you arrive on campus. The parking pass does not have to be cut out or hanging in your car. We will email the parking pass and a map of campus with the route you will take, and we will have staff along the route directing cars.
Please print a pass out that has been emailed and give to any delivery service you choose to use (taxi or Uber). Please retrieve the pass from the taxi driver when you are dropped off.
One Card
All students need a One Card as their campus ID card – onecard@citadel.edu, call 843-953-7000. Please email a headshot on a light background to onecard@citadel.edu with your legal first and last name (similar to a passport photo). This will serve our student’s entry indicator for the barracks and to get into the classroom. The picture can be taken on your cellphone and emailed in. Please contact One Card with any questions.
