Compliance

2017_chem_300_researchCompliance with all Citadel, local, state and federal regulations and laws is paramount to a successful research and grant program. The Citadel supports faculty, staff, students and volunteers in the pursuit of research and other grant activities by providing guidance for and monitoring of these activities through the Office of Research and Grants (ORG). This includes the review of all proposals to ensure compliance with federal, institutional, and private sponsor guidelines and mandates. The Office of Research and Grants provides oversight for application preparation and submission; the Institution Review Board (IRB) and award management.

The following policies are being updated or created to assist with compliance.

  • Research Safety
  • Conflict of Interest
  • Animal Resources
  • Industry contracts
  • Technology Transfer
  • Faculty Consulting

The Citadel offers web-based training through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) in the following areas.

  • Conflict of Interest
  • Good Clinical Practice (for nursing program)
  • Human Subjects
  • Information Privacy and Security
  • Responsible Conduct of Research

Please email Dena Garner to be added to the Citadel’s affiliation list if you are interested in taking one or more of the CITI Program courses listed above.

The CITI Program is dedicated to promoting the public’s trust in the research enterprise by providing high quality, peer-reviewed, web-based educational courses in research, ethics, regulatory oversight, responsible conduct of research, research administration, and other topics pertinent to the interests of member organizations and individual learner.
