Pistol Team

The Citadel Pistol Team’s mission is to expose members to the college’s core values of honor, duty and respect within an athletic environment. Members will practice and develop essential characteristics of good sportsmanship such as honesty, self-discipline and teamwork. The Pistol Team will provide members with opportunity to increase knowledge of safe handling and proper care of firearms and improve marksmanship to compete successfully in organized pistol competitions.

The Citadel Pistol Team’s goal is to qualify both a men’s and women’s team for the 2013 NRA Intercollegiate Pistol National Championship. The team also strives to support each member in his or her goal to earn a Citadel Pistol Team block C letter.

Membership is open to all four classes of The Corps of Cadets who are academically proficient and to all active duty military personnel who are full-time undergraduate students at the Citadel. Competition team members will be selected following tryouts during late September/early October.

The Citadel Pistol Team dues are $70 per year or $40 per semester, plus a refundable $100 damage deposit.
