Accreditation

The Citadel is accredited by The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor's, master's, and specialist degrees. The undergraduate and graduate degree programs of Teacher Education, Counselor Education, Literacy Education and Educational Leadership have been accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). All School of Education programs in education have been approved by the South Carolina Department of Education using the guidelines of the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification as modified for use in South Carolina. The Counselor Education program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The Citadel holds membership in the Association of State Colleges and Universities and the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education.

The School of Business Administration at The Citadel is accredited by the Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International.

The School Psychology Program is fully accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists. The Clinical Counseling program is accredited by the Masters in Psychology Accreditation Council.
