Student Teams Earn Honors at International Physics Competition
Four teams of students participated in the University Physics Competition, an international contest for undergraduate students. The 48-hour competition took place November 7–9 and drew more than 800 teams, each tasked with analyzing a scenario using physics principles and submitting a formal paper detailing their work.
The following teams earned awards for their performance:
Silver Medal: Cadet Burke (Physics and Mechanical Engineering); Cadets Chapman and Spencer (Mechanical Engineering)
Bronze Medal: Cadets Hatchew, Salch and Walsh (Physics)
Bronze Medal: Cadets Ramage-Cooper and Steffee (Mechanical Engineering)
Cadets Cyrus, Miller and Tompkins (physics) also represented The Citadel in the competition.
Faculty mentors John Sanders, Ph.D., and Joel Berlinghieri, Ph.D., provided guidance and support prior to the competition.
