Financial Aid for Degree Completion Program Students

Financial aid is offered for the degree completion program students at The Citadel. Evening undergraduate degree completion program students must be enrolled in a degree seeking program and registered at least half-time to be eligible for federal and state financial aid programs. Transfer students must complete or renew the FAFSA each year to qualify for federal programs and state grants. Find instructions at the bottom of this page for transfer student first-time borrowers.

  • For the 2025-2026 academic year (Fall 2025, Spring 2026 and Summer 2026), you need to file the 2025-26 FAFSA online using the Citadel School Code #003423 at studentaid.gov.

Important Information

  • Periodically check your My Citadel Portal to review charges and the status of your Financial Aid.
  • The 2025-2026 FAFSA application is NOW available  studentaid.gov.
  • In order to sign the FAFSA, you must create a FSA ID, which is your official passport to federal student aid online.
  • Information about the SC LIFE Scholarship (SC residents only), is linked in the Financial Aid card in My Citadel Portal. The state of South Carolina now offers a State Summer Scholarship Program: Eligible LIFE and Palmetto Fellows scholarship recipients, on track for early graduation (by one semester), may use 1 of their 8 semesters of scholarship eligibility in the summer as long as they enroll full-time and complete at least 12 attempted credit hours. The South Carolina Teacher Loan may be a good option for you if you are a student completing your initial teaching certification or a professional changing careers in order to teach.
