Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeal
Students are notified by email from the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships approximately one week after grades are posted for the previous term if their financial aid is at risk. This may be due to low grades, not meeting the pace standard, or attempting more than 150% of degree requirements without success. To continue receiving financial aid, students must submit a SAP Appeal. Alternatively, students may choose to pay for school using other resources without relying on financial aid.

Setting Up Meeting
To start the process, email SAP@citadel.edu to request a 30-minute SAP Appeal meeting. You will receive an email that includes the link to schedule a meeting and step-by-step instructions to guide you through the process.

Your advisor will schedule follow-up meetings with you if needed, and can share campus support options to help you thrive.
- Minimum GPA requirements can be found in the Academic Criteria for Continuance

After Meeting
Your advisor will email all paperwork to Financial Aid and ensure that you are copied on the email. Financial Aid will approve your SAP Appeal or contact you if additional information is required.
