Health fees and Insurance

Cadets pay a mandatory health fee, which covers professional medical services at The Citadel Infirmary. Visits to all clinics are free for cadets.  Additional fees are assessed for medications, immunizations, lab tests, EKGs, x-rays, orthopedic equipment and supplies. Medications are provided at cost, using generic medications purchased under a state contract. X-rays and EKGs are provided at substantially lower cost than in the local community.

Cadets are required to have supplemental health insurance to cover potential costs of emergency department visits, ambulance service, admission to local hospitals or medical centers, dental care and specialty medical or surgical care not available at the Infirmary.  For more information, see the "Insurance Information" section.
