Department Sponsored Clubs

The Citadel History Club
If you are a cadet (any class, any major) with a passion for history (any period, any place), then join The Citadel History Club! Past activities of the Club have included movie screenings, day trips to historical sites in the Charleston area, and overnight trips to historical sites further afield.

Phi Alpha Theta
pat initiates 2019
Successful undergraduate history majors and graduate students are invited every spring to join the Citadel chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, an international honor society for history students. Current cadet Phi Alpha Theta members may choose to operate as a club, with activities (including field trips). They may also make presentations of research at the annual Phi Alpha Theta conference.

The Citadel Irish Heritage Society
Sponsored by the History Department, The Citadel Irish Heritage Society is a group where Citadel cadets, other students and faculty have a gathering space to celebrate the Irish spirit, culture, and history. It is our goal to celebrate this spirit, embrace this culture, and learn this history so we grow as one big Gaelic family. Our activities include marking Irish holidays, supporting local Irish-owned businesses, hosting guest lecturers on Irish culture and history, and participating in local events while hosting meaningful events of our own.

The Citadel College Democrats
The Citadel College Democrats (CCD) is a student-led club focused on community engagement and education. Whether it is knocking on doors, meeting legislators, or welcoming speakers, the CCD works hard to provide new and meaningful experiences to its members. Within the first semester of existence, cadets have volunteered at the Charleston Pride Parade, met Gubernatorial candidates

We welcome cadets, staff, and faculty from all walks of   life and ideologies, and look forward to helping The Citadel develop well-rounded cadets.
