Fellowships at The Citadel
The Citadel’s Office of Fellowships was established in 2007 by directive of the Provost to assist the college’s most outstanding students – cadet and civilian, graduate and undergraduate – with applying to highly-competitive scholarships and fellowships. The Office of Fellowships has counseled applicants for the Rhodes, Truman, Marshall, Fulbright, and numerous other awards.
The office manages campus committees and the campus selection process for various scholarships and fellowships, and also houses the institutional representative or campus contact for all fellowships and scholarships with such a requirement. The Assistant Director for Fellowships coordinates with the Provost to develop formal institutional endorsement of applicants for awards with an institutional endorsement requirement.
Under Dr. Zane Segle, Director of Center for International and Special Programs, the office also administers the application process for:
- The Star of the West Summer Study Scholarship, a cadet study-abroad award which may be used to fund coursework abroad, independent research, and other activities.
- The CISP Scholarship, which may be used for short-term research or study.
- The Olmsted grants, which provide support for short-term travel in non-English-speaking countries on programs led by designated Citadel faculty.
