Bio
Michael Webb is an adjunct professor in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at the Baker School of Business. He is a healthcare executive, entrepreneur, and U.S. Army officer with more than 17 years of leadership experience. His career includes senior leadership roles with Fortune 500 organizations, including Optum, Quest Diagnostics, and AmerisourceBergen, where he has led national commercial teams and held leadership roles within multi-billion-dollar healthcare operations. He is also engaged in entrepreneurial work in healthcare AI and patient access.
Michael also serves as a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve, with more than 15 years of military service and experience across military police, logistics, aerial delivery, and airborne operations. He has held command, aide-de-camp, and primary staff officer positions throughout his military career. He is currently enrolled in the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
Drawing on his executive, entrepreneurial, and military experience, Michael brings a practitioner perspective to the classroom, with a focus on leadership, judgment, and decision-making under uncertainty. He emphasizes connecting management theory to real-world organizational challenges, including the use of data and AI to improve managerial decision-making and organizational performance.
