Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management
The Citadel’s B.S. in Sport Management program’s mission is to educate and cultivate strong-minded leaders to master sports for positive changes in our modern society. We prepare students to turn their passion for sport into impactful, leadership-driven careers across the global sports industry. Our programs provide students with an integrated academic experience that blends theory with hands-on learning across undergraduate and graduate pathways. Students gain practical knowledge in sport business, marketing, governance and facility and event management, while developing leadership and communication skills that prepare them for dynamic careers throughout the sports industry.
Sport Management Degree Description
Our mission aligns with the core values of health, integrity, leadership, respect, and service. The program advances the education of our students through the continuous pursuit of teaching, research, and service. Our program’s innovative curriculum leads students to the acquisition of skills, knowledge, and competence for graduate-level education and leadership positions in professions of the global sport industry, such as interscholastic and intercollegiate athletics, recreation, amateur, and professional sport organizations.
Student Learning Outcomes
By completing the B.S. in sport management, students will:
- Understand, interpret, conduct, and present research within Sport, Recreation, and all related subject areas
- Correlate lectures with research/business plan experiences
- Be trained to be influential professionals in future careers and educational endeavors
