The Citadel’s Cyber Studies Graduate Certificate
In today’s digital landscape, there is a pressing national security need for increased cybersecurity knowledge. The Citadel has established itself as a nationally recognized leader in cybersecurity education through its various technical academic programs, but more is needed to meet the needs of all citizens. To address this gap, The Citadel is introducing the Cyber Studies Graduate Certificate, with 8-week, online, asynchronous courses. These courses are designed for those eager to learn the essentials of cybersecurity, cyber risk assessment, cyber investigation, cyber policy, and cyber ethics.

Flexible and Accessible Cyber Education for All
The Cyber Studies Graduate Certificate at The Citadel offers a valuable opportunity for both new and current graduate students in fields such as Project Management, Intelligence and Security Studies, Business Administration, Engineering, and more. This interdisciplinary program is designed to complement and enhance existing studies, requiring no prior technical knowledge.
The program features 8-week, online, asynchronous courses, allowing students to start their studies in the Fall, Spring, or Summer 1st 8-week term, offering flexibility for working professionals. Courses do not have prerequisite requirements, allowing any student to complete the certificate within one year or less.
Classes are offered fully online, making it accessible to a broad audience. Comprising four courses (12 credit hours), the program is designed to:
- Equip you with the essential cyber skills needed across different domains to enhance career opportunities.
- Explore the foundations of cybersecurity and cyber risk assessment to tackle challenges in our evolving cyberspace.
- Analyze cyber law, policy, and ethics to aid in the decision-making process for managing cyber incidents.

- To offer an interdisciplinary cyber education to a wide range of graduate students from diverse backgrounds
- To educate students on cyber safety, cyber security, cyber policy, and cyber ethics.
