Bio
Kevin C. Bower, a native of Indiana, graduated from Ohio University in 1995 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He took a job with GPD Associates in Akron, Ohio where he worked for five years while completing his Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Akron. He continued his education at The University of Akron on a Distinguished Doctorial Enhanced Scholarship graduating with his PhD in Environmental Engineering in 2003. Dr. Kevin Bower joined the faculty as the Citadel in 2003 and spent time serving as the Department Head and D. Graham Copeland Professor of Civil Engineering at The Citadel. Dr Bower is currently serving as the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and the Dean of Graduate and General Studies at the Citadel. Dr. Bower’s teaching research interests are in improving active learning environments, recruiting and retaining underrepresented populations to civil engineering, and the development of classroom pedagogy to improve moral and ethical development in engineering students.
