Our Student Outcomes

  • An ability to solve problems in mathmatics through differential equations and apply this knowledge to the solution of engineering problems.

  • An ability to solve problems in calculus-based physics, chemistry, and one additional area of natural science and apply this knowledge to the solution of engineering problems.

  • An ability to analyze and solve problems in solid and fluid mechanics.

  • An ability to analyze the results of experiments and evaluate the accuracy of the results within known boundries of the test and materials in or across more than one of the technical areas in civil engineering.

  • An ability to develop problem statements and solve well-defined fundamental civil engineering problems by applying appropriate techniques and tools.

  • An ability to design a system, component, and processes within realistic constraints such as regulatory, economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, constructability in environmental, structural, land development, and transportation.

  • An ability describe the influence of contemporary issues on the identification, formulation, and solution of engineering problems and describe the influence of engineering solutions on economy, environment, political landscape, or society.

  • An ability to explain what a project is and the key elements of project management.

  • An ability to analyze and solve well-defined engineering problems in at least four technical areas appropriate to civil engineering including environmental, structural, land development, and trasportation.

  • An ability to organize and deliver effective graphical, verbal, and written communication.

  • An ability to discuss and explain key concepts involved in public policy and public administration.

  • An ability to explain key concepts and processes used in business.

  • An ability to explain the role of a leader and leadership principles and attitudes.

  • An ability to function effectivly as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
