Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program
The evening undergraduate program offers the same nursing curriculum as the Corps of Cadets. The Bachelor of Science (BSN) in Nursing program requires 60 credit hours of general education and nursing prerequisite courses. These courses will typically be taken at another institution for transfer.

- 2 semesters of English
- 1 semester of History
- 1 semester of Biology with a lab
- 2 semesters of Chemistry with a lab
- 2 semesters of Anatomy and Physiology with a lab
- 1 semester of Microbiology with a lab
- 1 semester of College Algebra
- 1 semester of Statistics
It is preferred that applicants also have the following social science courses:
- Psychology
- Developmental Psychology
- Sociology
The social science courses are offered online by The Citadel and may be taken concurrently with nursing courses. They must be completed before the start of the fourth semester.
A limited number of students will be accepted each summer. Once accepted into the program, students will be assigned a faculty advisor to help with course selections and academic issues.
Applicants who have received an offer of admission should select the Core Performance Requirements link below, complete and sign the form on cognitive and physical requirements of nursing and return to nursing@citadel.edu.
Completed applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Applications are accepted year-round for our cohort. Spaces are limited and filled on a first available basis. The program begins in early June each year with an application deadline of April 15th. We encourage all interested students to apply early for the fullest consideration.
