Chinese
Professor Wu holds master’s degrees in Architectural History and Design from Tongji University and Interactive Telecommunications from New York University (NYU). Her academic background spans art, design, architecture, and technology, bringing an interdisciplinary perspective to both teaching and creative practice.
Since 2005, she has taught Chinese language, culture, and the arts in both K-12 and higher education settings, including the College of Charleston and The Citadel. Professor Wu’s teaching helps students develop a deeper understanding of China through its language, artistic traditions, cultural heritage, and historical development.
At The Citadel, Professor Wu teaches Chinese language courses at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels, as well as courses such as Chinese Culture through Art, Chinese Civilization, Vlogging Chinese Culture, and Sculpture. Through interdisciplinary and experiential learning, she encourages students to explore Chinese history, philosophy, literature, visual arts, and contemporary society while developing a broader global perspective. Professor Wu’s goal is to foster cross-cultural understanding and meaningful engagement with both traditional and contemporary Chinese culture.
