Resident Agent in Charge (RAC) William J. Johnston, Jr. graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. RAC Johnston was hired as Special Agent (SA) of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in 2009 out the Philadelphia Division Office. In November 2009, upon RAC Johnston’s graduation from DEA Basic Agent Training, he was assigned to the Houston Division, Laredo District Office. In October 2015, RAC Johnston transferred to the Philadelphia Division Office and remained there until January 2021 when he was promoted and transferred to DEA Headquarters – Financial Investigations Section. In November 2023, RAC Johnston transferred to the Charleston Resident Office as the Group Supervisor of the Charleston Task Force. In December 2024, RAC Johnston was selected to the position of RAC for the Charleston Resident Office.
