COL Ty S. Gilbert, US Air Force
NATO Intelligence Fusion Centre
Colonel Ty S. Gilbert is the Commander, NATO Intelligence Fusion Centre (NIFC), RAF Molesworth, United Kingdom. Employing personnel from more than thirty Nations, the NIFC’s mission is to provide SACEUR and Allied Command Operations (ACO) with timely,
relevant, and accurate intelligence in order to support planning and execution of NATO Operations, and enable deterrence and defence of the Euro-Atlantic area.
Colonel Gilbert’s previous intelligence assignments include J2 Director for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance at Joint Force Command in Naples, Italy; Commander, 543rd Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group at Joint Base San Antonio,
Texas; Chief, Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Division, 603rd Air Operations Center at Ramstein Air Base, Germany; Commander, 55th Intelligence Support Squadron, at
Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska; Chief, Intelligence Officer Assignments, at HQ Air Force Personnel Center, Randolph AFB, Texas. He also served as a Director of Operations, 68th Network Warfare Squadron, at Brooks City Base, Texas and as an Instructor Airborne Intelligence Officer, 42nd Airborne Command and Control Squadron, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona.
Colonel Gilbert’s operational assignments have been in the CENTCOM and EUCOM theaters of operations and largely involved intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance duties, command and control and cyberspace operations. His deployments include rotations with the 5th Allied Tactical Air Force, Vicenza, Italy, the 455th Expeditionary Operations Group, Bagram, Afghanistan, Latvia, and several deployments to the 609th AOC, Al Udeid, Qatar.
Colonel Gilbert’s most important role is as a father, husband and son. He previously was an Assistant Professor at Norwich University, where he instructed in the Graduate School Leadership program. He and his wife are from Texas and he remains a passionate Dallas Cowboys fan.
