“At The Citadel, you get out what you put in.”
I came to The Citadel with a clear purpose: to push myself toward becoming a Marine Corps officer in the best way possible. I understood that the institution’s structure and discipline would test me daily—mentally, physically and emotionally. At The Citadel, you get out what you put in. When you consistently show up for yourself, day after day, the growth in your character and resilience becomes undeniable. Something that is said a lot through campus is “Remember Your Why” This saying is what I got engraved on my sword because without remembering my why I would not have gone out of my comfort zone to go up in the Corps ranks to get to where I am now as the Deputy Regimental Commander.
