I chose to come to the citadel to get a good education while having the opportunity to compete in division 1 soccer. I wanted some place that had structure and discipline so I would not get off track in these important years. The citadel has taught me many things and developed my character in a way that no other college could. I always remember the quote “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” I took a shot going to the Citadel and I will continue to take those risks because the outcome could be anything, but you wont know until you try and I think the citadel teaches that lesson to all.
The Citadel
There are about 2,400 undergraduate students who make up the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. 82% of Cadets receive financial aid, and over 88% are employed at the time of graduation. Students can choose from over 30 Majors, 50 Minors in five academic schools, with an accelerated medical program. The 11:1 student-to-faculty ratio and 95% of faculty having PhD’s (or the highest degree offered in their discipline) guarantees students a quality education.
