Blake knew he wanted to challenge himself both academically and physically, and he sought a place that would strengthen his leadership skills and set him apart from his peers in the military. He came to The Citadel fully aware that he was entering one of the toughest engineering programs, but he also knew he wouldn’t be able to succeed on his own. “Never be afraid to ask for help; you never know what success might come from it.” He plans to use the education and leadership skills he has developed over the past four years at The Citadel as an aviation officer in the United States Army.
The Citadel
There are about 2,400 undergraduate students who make up the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. 82% of Cadets receive financial aid, and over 88% are employed at the time of graduation. Students can choose from over 30 Majors, 50 Minors in five academic schools, with an accelerated medical program. The 11:1 student-to-faculty ratio and 95% of faculty having PhD’s (or the highest degree offered in their discipline) guarantees students a quality education.
