The goal of honors education is to cultivate student creativity, self-confidence, leadership, and academic excellence along wih a life-long passion for learning. The Citadel Honors Program is proud to be a member of both the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) and the Southern Regional Honors Council (SRHC).
The NCHC is the leading honors organization in higher education. Membership in the NCHC provides support for curriculum development, teaching innovation, national and international study opportunities, internships, and mentored research.
Every spring semester (usually in March or April), freshmen in The Citadel Honors Program are eligible to attend the annual conference of the SRHC (pictures below). Upperclassmen may participate as well, making presentations at the conference.
At the SRHC 2015 Conference, a Citadel Honors Program junior presented his research comparing the education systems of the U.S. and the U.K.
