My decision to come to the Citadel to lead the Honors Program has a great deal in common with our current and future cadets: I wanted to work with the best and brightest, and to commit to a program that continually makes me excited about my field and pushes me to think better, do better and be better.
An Honors experience at the university level is one that can be quite different from what potential applicants experienced in high school. It isn’t about simply doing “more work,” but engaging with more meaningful and challenging material that helps students identify what careers and a commitment to “service” means to them. In the Citadel Honors Program, we trust the potential and ability of our students to tackle more challenging material earlier, fully prepared to consider – and address – the issues of the past, the present and the future, whatever their particular career aspirations are.

You don’t just have to take my word for it. I would invite you to learn more about the program and to see what our Citadel students do while here in beautiful Charleston. But vitally, you’ll also have opportunities to learn about what our graduates have gone on to accomplish since earning their ring and beginning their careers. There’s no greater testament to the strength of our program than hearing from its graduates themselves.
If you are interested in joining the Citadel Honors Program, you can be assured that our faculty, staff and cadet leadership will provide a truly formative experience that will make a student’s time in Charleston even more enriching.
