Bio
Hussein Abdoh, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Baker School of Business. Prior to arriving at The Citadel, he taught finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate level for several years in the United Arab Emirates. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Texas at El Paso and his undergraduate studies at the University of Jordan. He has taught wide number of courses including Financial Management, Investments, Derivatives Securities, International Finance & Banking, Portfolio Analysis, Corporate Finance, Risk Management and Financial Statement Analysis.
Hussein academic focus is diverse and includes Corporate Finance, Asset Pricing, Investments, Energy Economics, Behavioural Finance, and Islamic Finance. His work has been published in well ranked journals such as the Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Portfolio Management, Financial Review, Energy, Energy Economics, Journal of Commodity Markets, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, International Review of Financial Analysis, Global Finance Journal among others. He presented his research in many conferences including Financial Management Association, Southwestern Finance Association, Southern Finance Association and Global Finance Association.
Prior to becoming a dad, Hussein enjoyed playing (poorly) soccer and basketball and watching fictional movies. Now he manages to obtain professional certificates in his spare time such as the CFA where he passed level 1 and level 2.
