For others, the transition from military to civilian life hasn&#8217;t yet occurred. Whatever your situation may be, your success is very important to us.  Please remember you are not alone during this journey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-do-i-do-now\">What do I do now?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item\"><details><summary class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__title\"># 1 Apply for VA Education Benefits with the VA (15 minutes)<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__content\">\n<p>If you have not yet applied for your VA Education Benefits at VA.Gov, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/veterans\/step-1-apply-for-benefits\/\">click here<\/a> to learn more about how to do so. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Typical processing time for the VA can be around 30 days. We suggest applying as soon as possible so your benefits can be processed on time.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item\"><details><summary class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__title\"># 2 Visit The My.Citadel.edu Portal &amp; Set Up Your Student Email (8 minutes)<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__content\">\n<p>The My.Citadel.edu Student Portal is used to house and communicate with students the tools and resources available to help them succeed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Navigate to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/my.citadel.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">my.citadel.edu<\/a>&nbsp;and log in with your \u201cusername@citadel.edu\u201d and current password, this should have been provided in your acceptance information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tip: Bookmark this page on your browser for easy future access!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be prompted to install the&nbsp;<strong>Microsoft Authenticator App<\/strong>&nbsp;when you sign into my.citadel.edu for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Be sure to follow the installation tutorial carefully<\/strong>, as the instructions require both a mobile device and a computer to complete. To find your advisor&#8217;s contact information simply search their name on The Citadel webpage.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/registrar\/registration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">To view student registration windows for each semester visit the registrar&#8217;s webpage here.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/academicaffairs\/academic-maps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">To view your major&#8217;s academic map click here.<\/a> Remember, as a Veteran or Active Duty student your course requirements may be different than those listed on your map due to prior coursework and ROTC affiliation.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Citadel uses Degree Works to track student&#8217;s degree plans, completion information, and GPA\/Academic Status. This form must be completed each semester and allows us to submit your tuition and expenses to the VA for payment.
