Military-connected students fall into three categories: veterans, active duty, and dependents. The purpose of the Green Zone is to create a more supportive environment for this group of students during their transition at The Citadel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Modeled after \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/web.citadel.edu\/root\/allies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Safe Zone<\/a>\u201d training for LGBTQ+ students, Green Zone training will help provide staff and faculty with information about the following topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Understanding cultural differences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognizing strengths and challenges military-connected students face<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Truths and Stereotypes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Appreciate the knowledge and experience these students bring to the classroom<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide resources to assist<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understand data and demographics information about military-connected students on campus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-who-are-the-ambassadors\">Who are the Ambassadors?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The ambassadors are staff and faculty members who have volunteered to attend The Citadel Green Zone training in order to help support military-connected student from within their roles on campus.
