{"id":96,"date":"2024-02-26T10:16:48","date_gmt":"2024-02-26T15:16:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/sva\/?page_id=96"},"modified":"2026-02-16T11:30:25","modified_gmt":"2026-02-16T16:30:25","slug":"2026-2027-executive-board-elections","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/sva\/upcoming-events\/2026-2027-executive-board-elections\/","title":{"rendered":"2026 &#8211; 2027 Executive Board Elections"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>All Veteran &amp; Active Duty Students whether taking courses in-person or online are encouraged to join and participate in The Citadel Student Veterans Association!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>** If you are not interested in serving on the executive board you can still serve on one of our many committees, complete the application form below to join! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below is information pertaining to the 2026 &#8211; 2027 academic year executive board member elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Elections Schedule:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Monday, March 16, 2026 &#8211; Applications Open <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Friday, March 27, 2026 &#8211; Applications Close<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Friday, April 3, 2026 &#8211; 26<code>-27<\/code>` Board Announced <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item\"><details><summary class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__title\">Who is eligible to serve on the executive board?<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__content\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be a Veteran or Active Duty student enrolled in courses at The Citadel,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The role of President must be filled by a Veteran Day Student,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must have a cumulative weighted GPA of 2.7 or higher, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can not have any negative demerits or behavioral issues concerning their personal conduct on school grounds or while attending The Citadel or CSVA functions.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item\"><details><summary class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__title\">What are the roles of each position on the executive board?<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__content\">\n<p>Executive board positions include President, Vice President of Programs and Member Development, Vice President of Recruitment and Member Engagement, Vice President of Finance and Fundraising, and Vice President of Communications and Marketing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To view each role&#8217;s description and responsibilities <a href=\"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/sva\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/CSVA-Board-Positions_24-25.pdf\">click here<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item\"><details><summary class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__title\">What is the term of the executive board?<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__content\">\n<p>The executive board member serves May 5 &#8211; May 9 of the academic calendar year.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item\"><details><summary class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__title\">What is the mission of The Citadel Student Veterans Association (CSVA)?<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__content\">\n<p>The CSVA\u2019s mission is to provide American active duty military personnel, American military reserve and National Guard personnel, veterans, and their families with the resources, support, and advocacy needed to succeed in higher education; to build a rapport and strengthen relationships with &nbsp;The Citadel\u2019s administration, cadets, and alumni&nbsp; to further cement student veterans into The Citadel\u2019s Culture.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item\"><details><summary class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__title\">How much time will I have to devote to being a board member?<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__content\">\n<p>Board members are very active in the CSVA management, they devote anywhere between 2-3 hours each week on their role. They also attend all board meetings (1st Friday of the month at 2:15 PM) and meet with their Veteran Student Success Center Advisor (Melissa West mwest5@citadel.edu) on a bi-weekly basis. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item\"><details><summary class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__title\">Are there other roles besides executive board members?<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__content\">\n<p>Yes!! We have several committees, all students are encouraged to participate in, including Fundraising and Finance, Member Recruitment and Engagement, and the Policy Committee. If you are interested in joining any of these committees, please fill out <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=gRAMlmPQ-EGES0HXONsEowam8kqVE-tCpzNasUbK0PtUMURHWVBZMlFOUEwyQjhGMzRLNTA4T0Y5NC4u\">this form<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item\"><details><summary class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__title\">How can online students participate in the SVA?<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__content\">\n<p>All CSVA meetings are streamed online using Zoom and will be available on the webpage following the meeting. We are also in the process of planning online mixers and events to cater to our online student population.
