{"id":52,"date":"2022-09-19T08:40:06","date_gmt":"2022-09-19T12:40:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/treasurer\/?page_id=52"},"modified":"2024-12-10T14:32:48","modified_gmt":"2024-12-10T19:32:48","slug":"holds","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/sbs\/payment-information\/holds\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Account Financial Holds"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-student-account-financial-holds\">Student Account Financial Holds <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/web.citadel.edu\/root\/images\/policies\/5-005-delinquent-student-accounts.pdf\">Delinquent Student Accounts Policy (5-005)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students with a &#8220;hold&#8221; on their account should&nbsp;first check the status of the account on <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/my.citadel.edu\">My Citadel Portal<\/a><\/strong>. If the student owes for a prior term or current term and it is after the payment due date for the term, a financial hold may be placed on their student account.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Financial Holds may be attributed to outstanding balances from a prior or current academic period; adjustment for financial aid; return of funds to an NSF (Nonsufficient funds) payment that was returned from a financial institution etc. These are a few examples in which a financial hold is placed on a student&#8217;s account. This is set on a student account by Student Business Services and will deter a student from registering for future courses and\/or receiving their diploma. Once the financial holds are set on a student account, it remains active until the outstanding balance is paid in full.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the balance is reduced to below $500, the system will automatically remove the hold.
