Rebecca Pogorzelski

CGC Grad ’15

Rebecca Pogorzelski I was born and raised here in Charleston, South Carolina. I graduated from the University of South Carolina in May 2013 with a B.S. in finance. In January 2014 I enrolled in The Citadel Graduate College's MBA program and graduated in December 2015. Currently, I work at Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic (SPAWAR Atlantic) as a Budget Analyst. I began my career there in 2012 as a student intern and was hired on full-time after graduating from USC.

What about your time at The Citadel had the most positive impact on your career or life?
I really enjoyed meeting so many fellow students from all different backgrounds. Everyone has experienced different things in their careers and lives, so I found it beneficial to learn from my peers, as well as my professors. I was able to make connections with fellow classmates that will help me in my career and personal life.

How do you think your experience at The Citadel got you to where you are now?
My experience at The Citadel has allowed new doors to open for me in my career. I hope to take on more responsibilities at work, as well as leadership positions. I feel more confident and accomplished now that I have my MBA. Before entering the MBA program, I had a solid foundation in business principles, but now I have a better understanding of how to apply these principles in my career.
